Then it should be drained and the radiator refilled with fresh, clean water and cooling fluid. Check the thermostat as well. Not many Mercedes C36 owners realize that the thermostat is often the culprit with temperature problems. They are flimsy and do not sustain damage well. Change the thermostat at least every other year. These tasks are simple yet often overlooked. Keep a regular maintenance schedule to make note of the year you bought your transmission and the repair and maintenance dates.
